Those attempting to pay their property taxes online through Wright County's portal can breathe a bit easier this afternoon. After an unexpected snag on Thursday, the county has gotten its electronics back in line, allowing for the processing of e-check transactions for those still clinging to checkbooks, virtual or otherwise. According to Wright County's announcement, the temporary issue was resolved on Friday, Sept. 19. The county assures that this hiccup, tied to their vendor's system, won't trip up property taxpayers any more than it already has.

While e-check payments are up and running, credit card users will have to hold off until the beginning of next week – the county's tech team, together with their vendor, estimates a resolution by Monday, Sept. 22. It's a juggle and a half for those who prefer plastic over paper or electronic, but this, at least, is the light at the end of the tunnel, per officials.

Wright County has not detailed the cause of the issue with the online portal, but they have confirmed that tax payments can still be processed through the mail or in person, for those traditionalists who prefer a tangible transaction.

Residents are directed to Wright County's website for updates on the credit card portal's status and are encouraged to take advantage of the e-check option now that it's available. The county has not reported any further disruptions expected.
