Houston's Galleria Mall recently hosted YouTube and Twitch creator IShowSpeed during his tour, "Speed Does America." The visit ended with the streamer receiving a permanent ban from the mall after a large crowd of fans caused a disturbance, which was captured live and shown to his audience, according to CW39.
During his visit to Houston, IShowSpeed, or Darren Watkins Jr., who has over 44 million YouTube subscribers and 41.3 million TikTok followers, followed a full schedule. After stops in Miami, Washington D.C., New York City, and Chicago, he visited The Honey Hole for a meal, performed a backflip at Waterwall Park, and went to Johnny Dang with Paul Wall. His visit to The Galleria Mall ended with him being asked to leave. These activities were shown in a live stream titled “24/7 irl stream in America 🇺🇸 Day 18 of 35 (Houston, TX),” which has received over 2.1 million views, as reported by Houston Chronicle.
IShowSpeed was heard asking security, "I didn’t do anything! I'm banned because my fans came to the mall?” during a visit to The Galleria, where his fans gathered in large numbers, as mentioned by CW39. He made stops including playing Carrom at Subhlaxmi Grocers and getting a burger at Trill Burgers. After the ban, he continued his tour, and his visit highlighted challenges for the mall in managing large crowds of fans.
