Dr. Abigail Tarango, an esteemed Ysleta High School alumnus and present Executive Director of the El Paso Children’s Hospital Foundation, has been celebrated for her ongoing contribution to her community in El Paso. According to Ysleta ISD, Dr. Tarango, who graduated in 1997, has a rich professional background that encompasses roles such as educator, writer, coordinator, and strategic leader within the educational system.
Her formative years at Ysleta High School set a precedent for a career built upon educational excellence and community service. Dr. Tarango has amassed experience as a teacher, freelance writer, and coordinator with El Paso Marathon Kids, and has served on the UTEP-TRIO Upward Bound faculty. Her academic credentials fortify her professional pursuits, with a bachelor's in early childhood education, a master's in curriculum and instruction, and a doctorate in educational leadership.
The recognition as an honored ex is not just a testament to Dr. Tarango's individual successes but to the impact she has had on her community.
