A 16-year-old boy has succumbed to injuries sustained in a shooting that also wounded a 14-year-old at the Rainbow Terrace Apartments in Cleveland's Garden Valley neighborhood. According to Cleveland 19 News, the shooting occurred early Friday afternoon, and both victims were taken to University Hospitals in critical condition.
Details about the incident remain scarce, but Cleveland Police Sgt. Wilfredo Diaz reported to cleveland.com that the shooting happened just after noon. Witnesses seem to suggest the teens were engaged in making a video in a hallway before a person approached them, which led to a dispute. Shots were then fired, though it remains unclear who specifically shot the teenagers.

Cleveland City Councilman Richard A. Starr weighed in, emphasizing the burgeoning access to guns among youth. "It’s just one of these different things that continue to hurt, where young people are gaining access to a gun more than they are gaining access to jobs, more than they are gaining access to a decent hot meal," Starr told WKYC. He further revealed that both teens had guns on them when the argument escalated, leading to the fatal shootout.
The Cleveland Division of Police Homicide Unit continues to actively investigate the incident.
