An 18-year-old has been taken into custody and charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy outside of Lansdowne High School earlier this year, Baltimore County Police shared. The arrest came several months after the incident, which occurred on the afternoon of March 4. Identified as Challah Haywood, the 18-year-old now faces first-degree murder charges and is being held with no option for bond, according to information from Fox Baltimore.
The events unfolded when police officers were called to the 3900 block of Hollins Ferry Road at around 2:40 p.m. on the date of the shooting. They quickly discovered a 16-year-old male who had been critically wounded by gunshots on the high school's grounds. The victim, identified as Kamau Campbell by WBALTV, was rushed to a local hospital. Tragically, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
Investigators provided further details, stating that Kamau was initially shot at a nearby shopping center on Hollins Ferry Road. He managed to run towards the school, where he collapsed and was shot again. In light of these developments, Metro Crime Stoppers has offered a cash reward of $2,000 for information to help further unravel the incident.
