A fatal collision in Monroe County resulted in the death of a 27-year-old woman and left another woman injured on Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred at the intersection of N Monroe Street and Mall Road in Frenchtown Township, as reported by ClickOnDetroit.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office told 13abc that a crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. involving a southbound 2025 Ford Expedition and a 2020 Ford Fusion. The Ford Fusion was struck while making a left turn. The driver of the Fusion, Cloe Klatt, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said Klatt was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
A 57-year-old woman from Monroe was taken to a local hospital after a crash and is reported to be in stable condition, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said. Officials said she was wearing her seatbelt, while Klatt was not. Alcohol is not suspected, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation, as mentioned by Wtol.
