
A 51-year-old man was seriously injured in an electric scooter accident in Kalihi, authorities said. The incident occurred last Saturday night while he was riding east on North King Street. KHON2 said the rider lost control of the scooter and hit a roadway stanchion.
After the collision, the man was thrown onto the raised median, officials said. "EMS transported the 51-year-old male to an area hospital in critical condition as a result of the collision," as reported by KHON2,
The Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, is investigating the accident. Police have ruled out speed, drugs, and alcohol as factors. "Police reported that the man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision," as mentioned by KITV. Authorities are looking into the events that led to the accident.
