An 8-year-old boy was shot in the leg at the Goldelm at Regency Oaks Apartments in Casselberry. As reported by ClickOrlando, the incident took place yesterday, and authorities responded to the scene after initial reports of gunshots in the area.
Upon their arrival, Casselberry police and fire departments found the child with a gunshot wound to his upper leg. He was transported to Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children. The current condition of the boy has not been specified, but his family indicated, per WESH, that they believe he will recover.
The Casselberry Police Department, probing the circumstances around the shooting, stated that the event was neither an accidental discharge nor related to domestic violence. Additionally, a separate gunshot victim arrived at Centra Care in Orange County, with police investigating a possible connection to this incident.
