
A tragic incident unfolded in Santa Ana Tuesday night when a food truck driver, later identified as 67-year-old Richardson Ayala of Anaheim, was killed in a vehicular collision. According to CBS Los Angeles, the collision occurred around 10:46 p.m. near Warner Avenue and Birch Street. The violent crash involved Ayala's food truck and an SUV, and resulted in the truck overturning and Ayala being ejected from the vehicle.
Upon the Santa Ana Police Department’s arrival at the scene, Ayala was found pinned underneath the overturned truck – tragically, he was declared dead at the site of the accident. A report by KTLA shared that a passenger in the food truck, along with the driver of the SUV, sustained moderate injuries and were both taken to local hospitals. Investigators believe that the crash happened as Ayala was attempting to make a left turn in front of oncoming traffic and was struck by the SUV moving in the opposite direction.
