Following a four-year-long investigation, Arlington Police have made an arrest in a murder case dating back to 2021, involving the killing of a transgender woman named Kier Solomon. Detectives apprehended 25-year-old Arthur Morris Jr., who was already serving time in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for an unrelated crime, and have now charged him with one count of Murder, according to the Arlington Police Department.

On September 30, 2021, Solomon's life came to a tragic end when officers found her in her car, shot, at a North Arlington apartment complex. Despite being swiftly transported to the hospital, she succumbed to her injuries. During the investigation, police made use of Solomon's phone records, which indicated that she was lured to the location under the pretense of meeting someone from an app, the same modus operandi later linked to Morris.

It was this pattern of behavior, of contacting victims through an app to meet at the Stonetrail Road complex, that put Morris in detectives' crosshairs. Another victim had come forward, citing a similar experience of robbery and aggravated assault that involved being shot at, weeks before Solomon's murder. Throughout their investigation, detectives persisted and, by September 2025, uncovered email and phone connections that positioned Morris at the crime scene "before, during, and after the murder," the Arlington Police Department reported.

"This investigation truly highlights the persistence and dedication of our detectives," Chief of Police Al Jones expressed. Acknowledging the challenges of the case, he further stated, per the Arlington Police Department, "Sometimes we get that big break in a case right away and other times we don’t. What never changes, though, is our commitment to delivering justice for victims of crime and exhausting every possible lead to achieve that goal. I’m extremely proud of the outstanding investigate work that was done to solve this case."

Currently detained at a TDCJ facility in Childress, Texas, Morris is awaiting transfer to Tarrant County for his arraignment. With the tireless effort of the Arlington detectives and the incrementing of charges, the wheels of justice seem, albeit slowly, to be grinding forward for Solomon and the community touched by her untimely and violent departure.
