Armed suspects carjacked a man and his passenger in Rainier Valley late Monday night, according to a Seattle Police Department report. The male victim, sitting in his parked car with a female companion around 11:30 p.m. on the 3200 block of Rainier Avenue South, described the sudden confrontation with two gunmen who demanded their exit before fleeing with his vehicle.
The assailants' approach was swift and terrifying, with one opening the passenger's door and brandishing a gun directly at the woman as the other intruder did the same to the driver, the driver attempted to counter by starting the car and pushing the weapon away but found himself forcibly removed from the vehicle by his collar, they then escaped northbound in the stolen car containing personal items like a security uniform, equipment, and the female victim's purse with her phone and ID. Both victims, unharmed physically, took shelter in a nearby business to call for help.
Subsequent to receiving the 911 call, law enforcement officials promptly conducted an area search; however, the whereabouts of the stolen car remained a mystery. The Seattle Police Department has not yet found the vehicle, and detectives from the Robbery Unit have taken the helm of this ongoing investigation in hopes of piecing together the events that led to the carjacking.
