The driver, who was on probation for a previous shooting, managed to quickly flee at high speeds, actively weaving through traffic lights and navigating surface streets. As KTLA reports, the LAPD deployed a spike strip effectively enough to shred the vehicle's left front tire, an event that would ultimately lead to the driver losing control. The collision occurred after the man's SUV clipped a compact vehicle parked along the intersection of Calvert Street and Cedros Avenue.
