Two years after a 2023 triple homicide in Southeast Washington, D.C., the Metropolitan Police Department has made an arrest in the case. The incident occurred on Good Hope Road, resulting in three deaths and two injuries.
On August 5, 2023, police responded to a shooting on Good Hope Road at around 8:22 p.m. The incident resulted in the deaths of Tymea Cook, 27, of Southeast; Bernard Hodges, 35, of Northeast; and Reginald Gilbert, 34, who had no fixed address. Two men who were injured were taken to a local hospital. The deceased were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
After an investigation, the Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crime Suppression Division, Robbery Suppression Unit, arrested 28-year-old Rahsaan Smith of Southeast D.C. on Wednesday. He is facing three counts of First-Degree Murder While Armed (Premeditated), as per the DC Superior Court arrest warrant.
