Austin Police Department detectives are actively seeking two male suspects involved in the burglary and theft at a local charity organization, and they need the public's help. The crime occurred at Century Charities, located on Bluff Springs Road, where two Hispanic men reportedly stole a generator and a food trailer valued at approximately $22,000.
The incident, which unfolded on October 9, 2025, at 2:40 p.m., involved the suspects breaking into two storage containers on the property. The food trailer stolen is especially crucial for the charity as it is used to sell food to help fund its various charitable programs, reports AustinTexas.gov. The suspects were last seen driving a Chevy Tahoe, and authorities have released photos to aid in their capture.
In their call to action, the APD emphasized the role of community assistance. "Anyone with any information should contact APD's Commercial Burglary Unit," informs the report. To further encourage public participation, the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
The affected organization, Century Charities, has yet to comment on the impact this theft will have on its operations. However, the loss of essential equipment such as the food trailer, likely poses a significant setback to their fundraising efforts. Suspect images and contact information for the APD Commercial Burglary Unit can be found on the city's official website, alongside details on how to submit tips anonymously through the Crime Stoppers Program.
