
Authorities in Bandera County are probing the discovery of human skeletal remains found on Friday evening. According to FOX 7 Austin, the Bandera County Sheriff's Office and Texas Rangers commenced the investigation after a report was filed about the remains located off of Wharton Dock Road, which is roughly an hour's drive northwest of San Antonio.
The sheriff's deputies were first at the scene at around 6 p.m., confirmed the presence of human remains, and were soon joined by the Texas Rangers, they worked together, collecting skeletal remains and other pieces of evidence, all of which are slated for forensic analysis and identification; this was echoed by KVUE, which also reported that the scene was cleared by law enforcement personnel by approximately 8 p.m.
While the Bandera County Sheriff's Office maintains there is no current threat to public safety in the vicinity, the nature of this grim find remains shrouded in the unknown. "There is no ongoing threat to the area or community residents," the Sheriff's Office stated, as per the release given to FOX 7 Austin, details regarding the state of the remains or how long they might have been there were not disclosed at this stage of the investigation.
