Baltimore officials have apprehended 31-year-old Raymond Willis Lunn in connection with the attempted rape incident that took place on the Johns Hopkins University campus last Saturday. As reported by WBAL-TV, Lunn faces charges of assault and attempted rape following the incident that occurred near the Decker Quad around 7:30 p.m.
The suspect has a history of criminal offenses, which include attempted rape, armed robbery, kidnapping, and assault. Lunn, a registered sex offender, has now added to that list after the assault on the university's campus; the attack was thwarted by a passerby, which led to the assailant's flight toward Bowman Drive. Officials have increased the police presence on campus to ensure the safety of the students and faculty.
Additional details from FOX Baltimore describe that the victim was assaulted and fondled before the suspect ran off. The joint press conference held by both the Baltimore Police Department and Johns Hopkins University Police Department confirmed the arrest of Lunn, who was captured on camera fleeing the scene.
