
A tragic incident unfolded in a west Las Vegas neighborhood early Thursday morning when an armed man involved in a barricade situation was found dead inside a home. According to a report by News3LV, the standoff began around 6:20 a.m. in the 1600 block of Royal Palm Drive, near Lake Mead Boulevard and Tenaya Way. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police stated that the individual had shot himself and refused to heed orders to exit the residence.
In a further development, FOX5 Vegas reported that all other occupants of the home were able to get out safely. The critical response by authorities included SWAT and crisis negotiators. It was later confirmed by LVMPD that the man was found dead. The scene was eventually cleared, signifying an end to the immediate crisis.
