According to a report by News3LV, the standoff began around 6:20 a.m. in the 1600 block of Royal Palm Drive, near Lake Mead Boulevard and Tenaya Way. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police stated that the individual had shot himself and refused to heed orders to exit the residence.
