
A Baytown police officer and at least two children were hospitalized after a crash on Thursday evening at West Baker Road and Country Club Drive. The collision involved a police cruiser and a van carrying multiple juveniles, and traffic was redirected in the area, according to Click2Houston.
An on-duty Baytown police officer in a marked patrol vehicle and a van carrying children were involved in a crash. The officer and some of the children were flown by helicopter to a hospital. Their conditions have not been released. The intersection was closed during the investigation. Emergency crews treated others on scene, including the van’s driver. Police have not released the names of those involved or confirmed how many juveniles were in the van, but Lt. Aaron Crowell said there were “several juvenile passengers,” as reported by FOX 26 Houston. Other juveniles from the van were taken to hospitals by ambulance.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and few details have been released. The van involved had several juveniles inside at the time. Authorities are asking people to stay away from the area so first responders can continue their work.
