Visit Jacksonville is offering a free Tourism Ambassador training program to help residents share the city’s history and attractions. The program is open to anyone in Duval County who interacts with visitors, including front desk staff, shop owners, and residents who want to promote Jacksonville.
The deal is pretty straightforward - a four-hour course with a blend of classroom learning and feet-on-the-street experience. Those who check off the full session get a badge of honor as certified Jacksonville Tourism Ambassadors. As part of the tribe, you'll be in the loop on the latest updates, event invites, and you'll be plugged into a network of fellow ambassadors. An agenda cited on the City of Jacksonville's official website breaks down the training into two-hour of classroom time, a 90-minute downtown walking tour with bells on, and a wrap-up session lasting 15 sweet minutes. Classes for the Tourism Ambassador program are scheduled for select midday sessions. Each class requires at least 10 participants and can accommodate up to 30. If the minimum is not met a week before the session, it will be rescheduled. Organizations and businesses may also request private sessions at no additional cost.
