Set for discussion at a city hall meeting on October 22, from 4-6 p.m., the city and stakeholders are seeking out vibrant World Cup-themed events. According to an announcement by the city, grants will be available to small businesses, artists, and nonprofits interested in creating activations that will coincide with match days occurring in June and July 2026.
Speaking to the city's enthusiasm, the statement outlined that "Activations will take place on six match days in June and July 2026, coinciding with Seattle’s World Cup games." The collaborative effort will involve the Bellevue Downtown Association and Visit Bellevue, Washingto,n amongst others, who are ready to offer support and grants to ensure a lively and engaging atmosphere for both residents and visitors.
Bellevue officials underscore the importance of inclusivity, imagination, and a global perspective in the planned events. The initiatives aim to "enhance not only the transit experience of community members and visitors making their way to the games, but also entertain people not making a trip on the 2 Line."
