An incident on the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn resulted in two fatalities, with the suspect currently unaccounted for after a collision on Sunday night. According to ABC7NY, a white Mercedes-Benz traveling westbound at high speed struck a motorcycle near the Shore Parkway exit. The collision caused the vehicle to cross a median, hit trees and a fence, and eventually come to a stop after impacting three parked cars.

Surveillance footage showed the Mercedes flipping several times before landing upside down. A 22-year-old passenger in the car and a 28-year-old motorcycle driver died in the crash. "A lot of people go out from the buildings to see what's happened. And my son knew it was here and that was really terrible because we saw a young man was laying there on the road," Inna Matsipura told ABC7NY.

Authorities confirmed that the driver of the Mercedes fled the scene on foot. Although weather conditions were clear, the crash caused significant damage. One parked car, belonging to a nurse who had just completed a 12-hour shift at nearby Coney Island Hospital, was severely damaged. She was not present at the time of the incident. She stated to ABC7NY, "Thank God I'm okay. It's just a car."

Vitaliy Adler, told CBS News, "I was in the bed at this time already. And I looked through the window, and I could see a guy who ran pretty fast this direction under my window." Cleanup crews worked yesterday to recover debris and rebuild the damaged fence.
