
Toll rates at the Blue Water Bridge are set to rise, with the cost for cars crossing eastbound increasing from $4 to $5. The Michigan Department of Transportation stated that the hike will help fund maintenance, operations, and continued improvements at the bridge plaza.
This marks the second phase of MDOT’s toll adjustment plan, following a $1 increase implemented in 2024. The agency noted that the decision came after extensive public consultations and surveys that guided the timing and structure of the toll changes, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation.
The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced new toll rates for the Blue Water Bridge, affecting both passenger and commercial vehicles. Under the updated structure, passenger vehicles will be charged an additional $5 per extra axle, while commercial vehicles, including trucks and buses, will pay $5.25 per axle. Michigan Department of Transportation also introduced the EDGE Pass Commuter discount program, providing a $0.50 reduction per trip for frequent bridge users.
