In a display of community spirit and festive engagement, officers from the Boston Police Department's District B-2 took part in the Annual BPD Peer Support Unit Trunk-or-Treat event at Hibernian Hall in Roxbury. The officers weren't just there to keep an eye on things; they dove into the Halloween spirit, donning costumes and interacting with local youth.
According to the Boston Police Department's release, the event featured officers in festive Halloween gear alongside kids in their spooky best; there was even a BPD cruiser decked out to match the officers' "Smurf Village" theme although there were many creative interpretations of classic costumes, from ghosts and ghouls to superheroes and storybook characters, the "Smurf Village" cruiser became a central attraction.
A nod of gratitude was extended to the Boston Police Foundation, whose support was crucial in backing the officers’ commitment to both the community and their peers. The Foundation is known for its ongoing work in fostering goodwill between the community and law enforcement through events like these.
As the event wrapped up, a collective "safe and fun Halloween" wish was shared by the Boston Police Department.
