
Gunfire broke out on Hiawatha Street in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood yesterday afternoon, resulting in injuries to three individuals. Just before 1:30 p.m., Boston Police were called to the scene outside a home where they discovered two men and a woman with gunshot wounds, as reported by CBS News Boston. The three victims were swiftly transported to local hospitals, with the woman initially facing what was believed to be life-threatening injuries. However, her condition has since been updated to serious, while the men sustained injuries not considered life-threatening.
Witnesses who were in the area at the time of the shooting described the moments that followed. "I saw the boys run off, and we were scared when the thing go off, and the lady said, 'What is it?' And I said, 'This could give somebody a heart attack, it was so short and so loud.' And she said, 'What is it?' and I said, 'I don't know, those boys did something,'" Iris, a local resident who has lived in the neighborhood for about 18 years, told CBS News Boston.
Details regarding the circumstances of the shooting remain unclear, and no arrests have been reported at this time.
