
An Ohio man, 32, from Bowling Green was arrested on Friday after fleeing Monroe County deputies into a cornfield in Whiteford Township, Michigan. Deputies had recovered a stolen motorcycle from Toledo at a residence on Samaria Road when the man ran and was later found with help from a drone and a police dog, as reported by ClickOnDetroit.
He surrendered in the field and was taken to the Monroe County Jail, with charges of receiving and concealing stolen property pending as the investigation continues, as per CBS News Detroit. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the case to come forward.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office sent extra deputies to secure a perimeter during a search for a motorcycle theft suspect. “Drones and a police service dog, Mako, were dispatched during the search,” as mentioned by WTOL. The suspect’s name will not be released until charges are filed. Deputy Parran is leading the investigation.
