A grisly scene unfolded at a North Braddock senior living facility, where a woman was found fatally stabbed yesterday morning. Allegheny County Police have charged 28-year-old Victor Ramon Estrella Cordero with criminal homicide in the death of 65-year-old Faith Henley.
Responding to a call at Shady Park Place on Lobinger Avenue around 10 a.m., police discovered Henley with multiple stab wounds. Cordero, from Braddock, was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail. According to WPXI, Henley was a mother of 10 with a "heart of gold," her sister Camillia Henley said in a statement.
Investigators indicate that Cordero initially reported an overdose or medical emergency upon making the 911 call. However, surveillance footage suggests a timeline that is contradictory to his claims. According to court documents, Cordero, who claimed to have arrived at the apartment to collect a debt, was actually at the scene and did not exit the apartment before Henley's body was discovered. This detail was corroborated by reviewing videos that recorded movements in and out of Henley's apartment.
Henley was last seen alive at 5:41 a.m. yesterday, entering the apartment where Cordero was allegedly still present. The footage reveals multiple individuals visiting the apartment, but all could be accounted for, except for one unidentified person caught on camera. These findings eventually led to the lodging of charges against Estrella Cordero. "Police reviewed surveillance video that shows Henley coming and going multiple times throughout the night," WPXI reported.
Details from the investigation reveal a chilling collection of evidence, with WTAE noting that Cordero was connected to the crime scene by both surveillance footage and personal effects found in Henley’s apartment, including a blood-stained hoodie hidden in a closet.
