The Bradenton Police Department has arrested Christopher Dimastrantonio, a local man previously charged with stealing a $9,000 gold chain from Kay Jewelers. According to the Bradenton Police Department's Facebook post, during the earlier theft, Dimastrantonio reportedly told store employees to “call the cops” before fleeing with the jewelry.
Following his release, investigators linked Dimastrantonio to additional crimes, including dealing in stolen property and defrauding a pawnbroker related to incidents from January. During his most recent arrest, police also charged him with two narcotics offenses. He is currently being held without bond.
Authorities in Maine have also issued four violation of probation warrants connected to robberies committed by Dimastrantonio in that state. The Scarborough Police Department coordinated with Bradenton Police to address the out-of-state violations. Additional charges are pending as the investigation continues.
