In Butler County, a routine traffic stop turned into a significant drug and firearm bust, thanks to the efforts of Deputy Josh Singleton and his K9 partner, Radd. The Butler County Sheriff's Office shared details of the incident on their social media page, recounting that the deputy pulled over a driver who later refused to consent to a search of the vehicle. Undeterred, Deputy Singleton deployed K9 Radd, who conducted an open-air sniff and signaled the discovery of narcotics.
Following the K9's alert, a search was performed, which led to the discovery of approximately 8 grams of methamphetamine on the driver and a loaded gun inside the car. The driver, whose name has not been released, was taken into custody, facing charges of drug possession and weapons under disability, considering a prior felony conviction. The Butler County Sheriff's Office, in a social media post, celebrated the incident as "another great example of teamwork between our deputies and K9 units keeping Butler County safe!" complete with emojis emphasizing their point.
An official statement didn't immediately provide details about the driver's identity or the specific location of the traffic stop. However, the Butler County Sheriff's Office post has attracted community attention, with comments generally supportive of the law enforcement's actions and highlighting the role of K9 units in such police work.
