A California man tragically lost his life this week at 'Anini Beach Park after being pulled from the water. Officials responded to a distress call at the Kauai beach on Monday, where a swimmer was reported to be in trouble.
As per the details from the County of Kauai official reports, Todd Wilt, aged 61, experienced difficulty while swimming around 3:00 p.m. and, thanks to some assistance, made it back to shore before collapsing. Despite the rapid response of the Ocean Safety Bureau lifeguards who administered CPR and the ensuing efforts of the medics at Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital, Wilt was pronounced dead.
Currently, the authorities have scheduled an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death. Initial investigations suggest that there was no foul play involved in this unfortunate incident.
The victim, having been identified by officials as Wilt, hailed from California, was visiting the island when the incident occurred.
