Carrboro is preparing for several family-oriented Halloween events aimed at bringing the community together. According to the Town of Carrboro’s release, festivities begin on October 24 with Music and Stories Under the Stars at the Weaver Street Lawn. The event starts at 5 p.m., featuring music, a costume contest with registration open until 5:50 p.m., and a storytelling session suitable for all ages.
On October 31, Carrboro Town Commons will host a Halloween Carnival from 5:30 to 8 p.m. The event will feature carnival games, prize bags for children, and concessions such as popcorn and hot chocolate. No registration is required to participate.
Additionally, the town is holding a virtual pumpkin carving and decorating contest. Participants must submit a photo of their pumpkin to [email protected] by 5 p.m. on October 28. Each photo should include a sign reading “Carrboro 2025.” Only one pumpkin per photo is permitted, and all entries must be appropriate for all ages. “The Best of Show” winner will be announced on Halloween through the department’s Facebook page, as per the same release.
