The collective strategizing and creative prowess of the City of Carrollton Marketing Services team have been acknowledged on a national stage, securing awards from the City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA). Their efforts, honed towards fostering a more informed and engaged community, have culminated in three accolades at the Savvy Awards, which is part of 3CMA's Annual Conference. This event celebrates the excellence of local governments in the arts of communication and marketing, the foundations upon which resident-government relationships are both built and strengthened.
Out of the hat trick of honors, Carrollton snatched two top-tier Savvy awards. The first of these was for their 2023 Popular Annual Financial Report, branded as an accessible and high-level document that brings the city's budgetary and financial details to the residents in a clear and visually attractive manner. According to the City of Carrollton, the annual report was lauded for its professional, easy-to-navigate appeal. The second Savvy recognized the city's hard work for the 14th Annual Festival at the Switchyard, in which the city's marketing maneuvers drew praise for their precise strategic promotion, enveloped in strong verbiage, and replete with beautiful designs.
In addition to the two first-place awards, Carrollton's competent reach for creative zenith didn't just end there; a second-place Silver Circle award was also claimed by the city for its 2024 Festival at the Switchyard poster in the category of Graphic Design. The award underlined the power of effective branding and marketing, acknowledging how such elements are vital in driving the success and foot traffic to any event.
"We are proud to be recognized for the City’s marketing and communication efforts by a prestigious national organization such as 3CMA," expressed Kelli Lewis, the city’s Marketing Director, per the City of Carrollton. The success, she shared, stems from the city's commitment to stimulating citizen and visitor engagement, to not only increase awareness but also to rouse excitement and investment in the city’s offerings. These efforts, Lewis insists, support the Carrollton City Council's vision of creating a community that appeals as a home to families and businesses alike.
