The streets of the Town of OP are expected to quickly fill up with festival goers and concert attendees this weekend, as noted by the Clay County Sheriff's Office. The annual Fall Festival, a staple in the community's calendar, will take over Saturday and Sunday bringing with it a flurry of activities – including a large concert at NAS Jax. For locals and visitors planning to join the festivities, anticipating heavy traffic and some road closures is going to be part of the deal.
According to a social media post from the Clay County Sheriff's Office, the Buckman's 295 East Beltway will have two lanes shut down, which is surely to add to the traffic conundrum. Not only is vehicular traffic expected to swell, but pedestrians will also densely populate the surroundings of OP Town Hall Park. Moreover, traffic on Kingsley and US17 corridors will likely be steady and possibly congested.
The local authorities are calling for patience and care from drivers and pedestrians alike. "Please be careful and patient," the Clay County Sheriff's Office stressed in their announcement. The underlying message from law enforcement is clear: safety is paramount amidst the festive air. They wish for everyone to "have a fun and safe weekend," perhaps knowing well that the blend of jovial celebration and traffic can sometimes prove to be a challenging cocktail.
