Starting on the evening of October 20, CSX Transportation plans to completely shut down the Allen Lane railroad crossing for maintenance work, which will last until the afternoon of October 23. During this time, the crossing will be inaccessible, prompting local fire departments to strategize response plans for nearby residents. Similarly, Radar Road in Fleming Island will witness the onset of a new construction project aimed at enhancing connectivity to U.S. 17, with additions including bike lanes and drainage features.
