The Clayton Police Department recently released its weekly incident report for last Monday through Sunday, highlighted by a series of vehicle crashes, property damage, and other crimes. The CPD responded to a total of 506 calls, including 23 vehicular incidents and 47 requests to assist other agencies, according to the City of Clayton.

One notable case involved a multi-vehicle collision on the interstate. One driver, unable to stop in time, struck two other vehicles. As per the official report, the driver’s passenger complained of neck pain but declined hospital transport. Two other drivers were involved; the third was reportedly stopped in traffic when her vehicle was rear-ended and was later taken to the hospital for evaluation of neck pain. All vehicles involved sustained significant damage and had to be towed from the scene.

An incident of theft was also reported at a local apartment complex. The lobby attendant noticed her wallet missing from her backpack and later found it had been used for unauthorized transactions. Surveillance footage showed an unknown male searching through the attendant's bag while she was attending to residents. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify the suspect.

In a separate incident, officers arrested a woman for property damage and assault after she threw a flowerpot through an apartment window. The former resident was also found with a pipe and a substance suspected to be cocaine. She has been issued summonses and may face additional charges pending lab analysis. According to the official report, "The items were seized as evidence and will be forwarded to the St. Louis County Crime Lab for analysis."

The CPD report also included other incidents, such as a case of trespassing and resisting arrest involving a repeat offender. The man was spotted at a Chipotle where he had previously trespassed and became aggressive, actively resisting by pulling away from the officer during handcuffing. Additional cases from the week included lost property, check fraud, a woman arrested for trespassing and resisting at Café Napoli, and another individual taken into custody for outstanding warrants related to assault and traffic violations.
