Residents of Cloverdale can breathe a bit easier following the swift arrest of four burglary suspects. The Cloverdale Police Department, in conjunction with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, brought the alleged criminals to book after a series of events unfolded last Friday. According to a social media post by the Cloverdale Police Department, the story began with two Public Works employees who observed suspicious behavior that prompted a city-wide alert.
On Tuesday, these employees witnessed two individuals swiftly exiting a residential area and taking off in a black SUV. This led to a frenetic chase, with the suspects unknowingly on the radar thanks to a tip-off from Mendocino County, where a similarly described vehicle was tied to a recent burglary. Despite the initially fruitless search by officers, a call of an actual residential burglary in the same neighborhood brought the incident full circle, as the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office promptly detained the vehicle and its occupants.
The quick cooperation between municipal employees and law enforcement resulted in the recovery of stolen property from the burgled home. The suspects now face several charges, including 'Burglary,' 'Conspiracy to Commit a Crime,' and 'Grand Theft,' detailed the Cloverdale Police Department. All four individuals were booked into the county jail.
