Cobb County has recently been spotlighted for its dedication to tech innovation, snagging accolades at the 2025 Technology Innovation Showcase earlier this month for its digital prowess in supporting its citizens. This annual event is all about celebrating the ways in which technology is reshaping how Georgia's government services get delivered, with an eye toward projects and partnerships that straddle innovation and practical impacts.

Among the honored at the showcase, which took place on Oct. 2, was Cobb County's findhelp.cobbcounty.gov, a digital portal that went live between June and September of 2024 the platform has been lauded for making it easier for residents to connect with crucial services, ranging from mental health support and housing to job assistance, thereby streamlining what once may have been a fragmented, sometimes disheartening, process.

The idea first took root after Chairwoman Lisa Cupid put forth the need for an online mental health tool and, through a collaborative grind with Cobb Collaborative and Cobb Douglas Public Health, it blossomed into an all-encompassing resource. It's tailored for easy navigation and optimal utility—24/7 availability, a user-friendly search function with filters for service types and locations, and up-to-date listings that enhance dependability and pertinence.

Not just a directory, the site also offers insights gleaned from user trends to help local decision-makers better allocate resources and tackle the community's most pressing needs; something that's already shaping agendas, considering that since its launch till January of 2025 more than 18,700 searches have been logged with a striking demand for housing and food support, reflecting larger societal challenges within the county.

The future for Cobb County's newest resource looks bright, with intentions to nourish the platform further by expanding listings and introducing even more user-friendly features.
