Cobb County is updating its codes and regulations to align with changing state laws and community needs. Officials say the changes aim to ensure clear and fair rules for residents and businesses, according to the county's official announcement.
The County holds annual reviews of its codes, and this year’s amendment package is no exception. It will be presented at a Work Session on October 28 at 1:30 p.m., giving the public a chance to see the proposed changes. The updates aim to remove outdated or conflicting rules and ensure regulations effectively serve and protect both residents and the community.
But it's not just a show and tell. There's a crucial interactive component with two public hearings in the offing. The first, according to Cobb County Community Development News, is scheduled for November 12, at 9:00 a.m. And then there's a second session penciled in for November 20, at 6:00 p.m. This is the point where residents can weigh in and share their opinions on the proposed changes.
After all the discussions and deliberations, the ultimate decision-making happens at the November 20th meeting, coming directly on the heels of the latter public hearing. It's decision time, and this is when those amendments will be considered for adoption. The goal is to ensure that Cobb County's codes remain in lockstep with Georgia's overarching laws, shaving off potential clashes and keeping things running without a hitch.
