Cochise County is rolling out the welcome mat for early voters ahead of the November 4 Election, including two bonus Saturdays for in-person voting. Residents looking to avoid election day lines can cast their ballots early on October 11 and October 18 at two locations—the Cochise County Recorder’s Office in Bisbee and the Sierra Vista Foothills Service Center. With weekday voting already underway since October 8, voters have ample opportunity to make their voices heard up to October 31, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, according to the county's announcement.
For those registered on the Active Early Voter List (AEVL), early ballots should've hit mailboxes starting October 8. And anybody keen to follow their ballot's journey from mailbox to count can sign up for BallotTrax, a service providing updates on your ballot's whereabouts. To add another layer to accessible voting, Cochise County is on the hunt for civic-minded individuals willing to offer their time as poll workers, with applications due by October 15. Training is already in process, as the county prepares to fully staff its polling sites.
Accessibility remains a cornerstone of the county's approach to elections. Every vote center in Cochise County has been made ADA accessible, and options abound for those with additional needs. Braille or large print ballots, curbside voting, and specially trained election boards to assist confined voters at home are all available upon request. For specific arrangements, the county advises reaching out well in advance of election day. Voters are encouraged to check registration status, access a suite of statewide voter tools, and make any necessary accommodations through the resources provided on the county's elections webpage or by directly contacting the Recorder’s office.
In the push to ensure everyone has the option to vote early, citizens are reminded to come prepared with valid identification. For questions and further information on early voting or to request assistance due to disability, residents can reach out to the county directly.
