The streets of Columbia Heights were disrupted by violence when an incident in an apartment building left 27-year-old Jermaine McGee-Holmes clinging to life after suffering gunshot wounds. Last Saturday, police responded to a 911 call and found McGee-Holmes semi-conscious inside the 3200 block of Hiatt Place, Northwest, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
Despite the swift arrival of DC Fire and EMS, who rushed him to a local hospital for emergency care, the victim's injuries were too severe for survival, and two days later, on Monday, his battle ended as he was pronounced dead, the authorities confirmed. The MPD now actively seeks information regarding this homicide and reminds the public that there is a $25,000 reward for tips that lead to an arrest and conviction in this, or any other, homicide case.
