The Columbus Division of Fire recognized the professional growth of 20 of its members during the Autumn Promotional Ceremony held last Friday, as the organization proudly announced on its social media platforms. According to the Columbus Division of Fire Facebook post, the ceremony was marked by the tradition of badge pinning, a moment charged with both personal and professional significance for the fire officers and their families.
The event, officiated by Columbus Deputy Safety Director Michael Halloran, featured a reaffirmation of the Oath of Office, with Assistant Chief Tracy Smith delivering introductory remarks before the actual swearing-in, each of the newly elevated officers then received their badges from Columbus Fire Chief Jeffrey Happ, In a singular blend of formality and familial pride, loved ones were invited to participate in the badge pinning ritual, a gesture embodying their integral role in the journey of these service members' careers.
Among those promoted were Battalion Chiefs Michael Bishop and Jack Hageman, Captains Christopher Grilli, Nicholas Koebele, Andrew Maynard, Michael Neely, Kevin Radwanski, and Gerald Scott, along with Lieutenants Mitchell Beard, Jeremy Bucholtz, Micah Burgess, Michael Gischel, Jeffrey Hodge, Mark Knight, Chad Mathias, Christopher Nighland, Christopher Stembridge, Tiffanie Paige, Jacob Pineda, and Jeffrey Yerian.
