Last night in the quiet of Hayden Ave., tragedy unfolded as the Columbus Police were dispatched to the scene of a shooting. In a social media post from the Columbus Division of Police, it has been reported that a 29-year-old man, O’Shay White-Foster, was found with a gunshot wound yesterday in the early hours.
The encounter left White-Foster grievously wounded, and despite being quickly transported to a local hospital, he was soon pronounced deceased. It was during this grim investigation that detectives were also to learn of a second victim involved in the incident. According to the report, this victim claimed self-defense against an alleged physical attack by White-Foster and a companion, Marqwan Foster. It was during this confrontation that he was faced with a firearm, making him resort to using one himself.
Marqwan Foster, who detectives discovered had sought medical treatment for a gunshot wound, was identified as being shot in the same incident as White-Foster. In the twisted irony of events that night, Foster now faces charges of Involuntary Manslaughter in connection with White-Foster’s death. These charges underscore the chaotic and lethal nature of the situation that rapidly devolved into. It's in the hands of the Columbus Police Homicide Unit now to untangle the narrative of that night, piece by piece.
The Columbus Division of Police is asking for any individuals with knowledge about this shooting to step forward. Detective Camp-Donovan can be contacted at 614-645-2557, or the Homicide Unit at 614-645-4730. Those who wish to provide information anonymously can reach out to Central Ohio Crime Stoppers at 614-461-TIPS (8477). The community's help not only aids in bringing justice but also serves as an attempt to begin healing the fresh wounds left on Hayden Ave.
