
On the afternoon of September 29, Columbus neighborhood residents experienced a jarring disturbance when gunfire struck their homes. The Columbus Division of Police quickly responded to the incident that occurred on the 2100 block of Ruskin Ave. around 3:58 p.m. Upon their arrival, officers found not one but two residences damaged by bullets.
Investigations into the shooting led to the apprehension of two individuals. Jayion Hurse, aged 20, and a juvenile, 15 years of age, were taken into custody, facing charges of improperly discharging a firearm into a habitation. A social media post shared by the Columbus Division of Police detailed the event.
"While on scene, officers discovered an additional residence that was struck," according to the Columbus Division of Police Facebook page. The seriousness of the crime has not gone unnoticed, prompting a thorough investigation that ultimately culminated in the suspects' arrest. No injuries were reported in the aftermath of the gunfire.
