
In a recent disruption of peace at the block of 1200 S. High Street, a gunfire incident broke out following an altercation between two customers at a local establishment. The Columbus Division of Police reported that the confrontation escalated to the point where a handgun was introduced into the equation, with the suspect, identified as Joseph Pacheco, fetching the weapon from his vehicle.
The argument, which unfolded within the confines of the establishment, turned violent when the suspect decided to arm himself. The other individual, referred to as the victim, attempted to escape to his vehicle, leading to shots being fired by Pacheco. As per the police's social media post, "The victim attempted to flee to his vehicle and the suspect fired at the victim’s vehicle."
Fortunately, peace officers dispatched at 3:04 p.m. on Monday swiftly arrived. They managed to detain the suspect and secure the firearm. It was noted by the police that neither the victim nor the suspect sustained injuries as a result of the gunfire. The incident resulted in Pacheco facing charges of felony assault.
