Residents of DeKalb County have a new reason to spend their weekends outdoors. Next Saturday, a fresh playground will be unveiled at Biffle Park, located at 5221 Biffle Rd., Stone Mountain, GA. The event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony, as announced by the DeKalb County Department of Recreation, Parks and Cultural Affairs in partnership with Park Pride. Community members are expected to gather at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday to witness the official opening of the playground designed to bring joy to families and children across the neighborhood.
The initiative, which cost approximately $325,798 to complete, was made possible through a collaborative funding effort. According to information obtained by DeKalb County's official news release, Park Pride’s Grantmaking Program, the DeKalb County Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), and the Parks Department were pivotal in bringing together the necessary funding to materialize the project.
