Denton residents who need to take care of court-related business should prepare for a temporary shuffle. Starting tomorrow, the City's Municipal Court lobby and service windows at City Hall East are moving, but not too far from their current home. According to the City of Denton, the relocation is due to upcoming building repairs, ensuring that services can continue without interruption during the construction period.
The transition should be quick; the Municipal Court will close slightly early at 1:00 p.m. this Wednesday to quickly begin moving to their new digs. They are set to quickly reopen the next day, Thursday, October 9, during the usual business hours. This change will not affect the courtroom and judge’s office—it’s business as usual in those parts of the building, with those areas continuing to operate from their current location.
The new service area will be conveniently located in the main lobby of City Hall East, right near the Customer Service windows. This temporary relocation aims to maintain efficiency and accessibility for residents relying on municipal court services. An image provided by the city illustrates the changes, hopefully easing the transition for those who frequent the courthouse.
