In law enforcement, partnerships can include the collaboration between a deputy and a K-9 unit. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina recently reported that Deputy Vitek and K-9 Lucky achieved certification in man-trailing, according to a social media post.
Successfully completing the National Police Bloodhound Association's training program in Greenville, SC, requires considerable skill and diligence. K-9 Lucky, at 10 months old, met the program’s requirements. The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office SC announced, "Congratulations to Deputy Vitek and K-9 Lucky!"
The certification helps law enforcement in many ways. Man-trailing training teaches officers to use a dog’s tracking skills to find missing people or suspects and assist with investigations.
The handler and K-9 train and work together over time to perform their duties. The sheriff's office shared information about Deputy Vitek and K-9 Lucky’s recent achievement to show the activities of the K-9 unit.
