DeSoto Police were called to an apartment complex on East Pleasant Run Road last Friday after the department's Shot Spotter gunfire detection system, and multiple 911 calls reported a shooting incident. Once on the scene, officers located over 30 shell casings in the parking lot, according to the DeSoto Police Department's social media post.
During their initial investigation, officers performed a protective sweep of the vicinity, discovering an adult male who claimed to have been the target of the shooting. The victim, who was unharmed, reported being approached by two suspects and an exchange of gunfire ensued after heated words were traded and both parties drew firearms. In the aftermath, police detained 20-year-olds Noah Douglas Moran and Jashaun Lamonte Wofford, connecting them directly to the incident, "both suspects were subsequently arrested for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Firearm), a second-degree felony," the DeSoto Police Department stated.
DeSoto's detectives took over the scene to process evidence and carried out a comprehensive search of the apartment where the accused were found. This led to the recovery of multiple firearms.
