Halloween is sweeping into town with a touch of legal flair this year, as the Douglas County Courthouse opens its doors to the community's youngest goblins and ghouls. The courthouse has announced it will host its annual Halloween trick-or-treat event on Friday from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
A highlight of this year’s event is the courthouse’s involvement in the Teal Pumpkin Project, an initiative promoting a safe and inclusive Halloween for children with food allergies. By offering non-food treats, organizers ensure that kids with dietary restrictions can still enjoy the celebration.
"We can’t wait to see what creative costumes our little trick-or-treaters come up with this year!" expressed an excited courthouse representative, according to the event announcement on the official Douglas County website. Attendees are reminded that certain costume accessories are not allowed inside the courthouse. To ensure safety, the event prohibits toy weapons such as guns, knives, swords, pitchforks, and other sharp objects.
