The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating two separate cases of unlawful sexual contact that have been reported in the community. One incident took place on Amber Light Trail & Amber Light Avenue, where a female dog walker was assaulted by a man on an electric or dirt bike, described as a white male in his mid-20s with a thin build and sandy brown hair. The attack occurred on September 25th at around 7 PM.
The second incident occurred five days later, on September 30th, at around 6 PM at Daniels Park. A male suspect on an electric bike uttered "on your left" before slapping a female victim on the buttocks. Another woman in the vicinity also came forward, reporting a similar unpleasant encounter. The suspect in this second incident was described as wearing a baggy gray and white jacket. The Sheriff’s Office has shared these descriptions in hopes that community members might provide leads.
While it's currently unclear if the incidents are linked, both are being taken seriously by local authorities. The Sheriff's office's call to action was clear in their social media post, "Remember: If you see something, say something." They emphasized the importance of community vigilance and the role it plays in maintaining safety. According to the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, they are committed to apprehending the individual or individuals responsible for these acts.
