Drivers navigating through downtown Las Vegas should anticipate a slowdown, as Charleston Blvd has been condensed to a single lane in each direction between Las Vegas Blvd and Maryland Pkwy, the City of Las Vegas confirmed. The lane reduction which began yesterday is part of the greater storm drain construction project designed to update sewer and water infrastructure along with enhancements to pavement and pedestrian walkways throughout the area.
The construction, which is expected to stretch farther west as it progresses, is aimed at bringing much-needed updates to the infrastructure, an essential upgrade for this bustling part of the city, according to a social media post from City of Las Vegas. Despite the anticipated congestion, businesses along the popular stretch of road have been assured that access to their locations will remain open throughout the duration of the project.

With the majority of work set to occur on the south side of Charleston Blvd., drivers will be rerouted to the north side where temporary travel lanes have been established. The city urges motorists to plan for additional travel time or to seek alternate routes during the construction period.
